Pilates is a type of mind-body exercise developed in the early 20th century by German physical trainer Joseph Pilates, after whom it was named. Pilates called his method "Contrology" Pilates is a series of controlled physical movements linked with breath. It has emphasis on improving posture, aligning the spine and skeletal structure, improving coordination, greatly enhancing muscle tone, specifically core strength and massively reducing, if not completely eliminating back pain. Brídín has been teaching Pilates since 2004. She has undertaken many training courses in the discipline and has experience working with many conditions and injuries. Her Pilates class is challenging, effective, fun and enjoyable.
